The Pin Up look

We all love the look, Petty Page and her gorgeous poses, her hair, her swimsuits...She has inspired thousands of women of all era's to look and FEEL good about themselves at ALL AGES!
I absolutely love the look and want to try it out mysely but had no idea where to begin. So I made a list of essential items for a 1950's pin up girl look that you can wear daily!

*First off all, everyone needs a pair of high waisted shorts. Get them in all different colours and you are ready for summer!! So cute!

*Dark blue jeans, Skinny, high waisted if it flatters you. You can dress them up or dress them down.

*Stripped R-shirts or tank tops. Black and white, red and White or Navy Blue and white ones are the way to go! Bra straps are a no no so strapless or plastic straps. Tuck them in your shorts.

*A vintage dress. Think 1950's house wife. You can wear a petti coat under it to give it more of a pin up feel. Ebay is a good place to find vintage dresses. Anything full circle is good too.

*You will need a red Bandana that you can either wear in your hair or around your neck in a cute little cow girl style. It's very stylish and you can wear them for photoshoots or just around the house to get your hair out of your face.

*Hair flowers! These are an essential for any wannabe Pin Up girl. Red ones are very popular but any colour will do, black, white, yellows...You can wear them with a up do or with your hair long and loose. The more tropical, the better.

*A cardigan with buttons down the front. Make sure its short, and doesnt come down over your waist. A V-neck style is best for the vintage, pin up girl look.

*A polka dot Blouse. You can tie the blouse in a knot at your waiste if you want.

*A pencil skirt! The fit is tight around the hips, showing off your gorgeous curves. In the 50's skinny girls were OUT and curvy girls were IN and hot, hot hot! Try and army green or black skirt.

*Pantyhose with a seam running up the back, very very sexy and elegant.

*A pair of wedge high heels in RED. Peep toe ones are very sexy. Although wedge heels are easier to walk in.


Don't be scared to play around with this look, ladies. It's a very good style for all sizes because a true pin up can be any size or shape. Don't be shy, try it ou, especially in summer
